Web Dev Bootcamp TIL Day-3(Team Project Start)

Today marks day 3 of my web dev bootcamp expereince already. We finally began our team project which involved creating a team introduction page. Though I had believed it would be exciting to finally build something together, we decided working indepenently would be better since our experience and backgrounds differed.

 

Going through the process of creating a mockup design of our web page and discussing which features we wanted made me understand the difficulties that developers would face in the actualy industry. I have learned that communication is an especially difficult skill in our bootcamp as we do not understand each other's capabilities too well.

 

Deciding how we would glue our together towards the end before presenting our final project was another challege. Working together on the same file simulatenously did not seem realistic as most of us were novices. Instead, we decided to tweak our respective web page's features differently as we discussed our direction.

 

Below is the page I worked on today. I learned that labeling tags with the proper class and id names is crucial when applying style with css. Googling different fonts to import and buttons made life easier. I wanted to specifically learn how to use the hover feaure so that each image on our team cards would show the person's actual face.

 

Though it was good to finally start our team project, it gave me a reality check of the long path I have ahead in order to be a competent developer.
